Hi there all,

Just a short note to say 2 things:

1. To ask you whether you like the re-branded blog? I took the opportunity to refresh the site whilst I uploaded Optimize Press theme by James Dyson (get it here - it's outstanding!) for my membership site. The header is a bit of a gamble? What do you think?

2. To wish you a Happy Halloween! I have spent past 2 days getting stuff ready with the kids. We are going to do lanterns today for our trick or treat walk, ... am making good progress and beginning to get get excited too. Check out my thumbnail picture I had done on fiverr.com for $5. Gotta love it!

Whatever you are doing this weekend ... enjoy!

Llwyddiant,

Why does it take so long to make money on line?

Hi there y'all

Phew it's been a while since I physically recorded my progress (May 5th I think!), but I thought I'd take the time time to do that today.

It is fair to say that there has been significant learning since last writing as I try and learn as much as I can about membership sites. So, I have been viewing Ryan Deiss, Jeff Johnson & Lee Mcintyre videos as well as the King, Ryan Lee, of which I am an Inner Circle member!

I have spent a tiny bit of time too doing the old faithful 'oil rig hopping' and a little bit of Warrior Forum. The reason that I haven't been able spend as much time as I wanted in these developement areas is because I have been spending most of my time preparing my new book for publishing as well as building content for my upcoming parenting membership site. It's been a marathon to say the least!

I did get my 1st offer off the ground, a $9.99 book on 'Newbie's FAQ', which hasn't yet produced any results.

I have downloaded camstudio and plan to put that to good use very, very soon!

I have also worked a little on my Facebook page and it is now ready to produce offers and communicate info.

In terms of results:

Google Analytics results are good. 169 visits/415 page views and 124 unique visitors. Bounce rate 58%

Alexa ranking improving at 1.045m (+20,000)

Twitter up to 110

Customers up to 70.

Income $595

Comparison to plan:

The only area behind plan at this stage is customer numbers. Because I have been wholly focussed on learning about membership sites & working on my parenting site incl. book, this has meant a stagnation in my IM arena. However, I fully intend to return to grace with a updated 90 day plan and gant chart to ensure that success comes this way. I am already planning a membership site on this domain...so watch this space!

That's it for now everyone!

I hope this shows Newbie's that Rome wasn't built in a day and those stories of overnight riches are a complete pile of poo! You reap what you sow, it takes time!

To our success!

Joe

If you're starting out in the world of Marketing on the internet, it can be a very challenging experience as there are literally hundreds of 1000s of various programs as well as products you can choose from. You sometimes find yourself shelling out a lot of money trying out all the numerous get rich quick strategies.

Quite often, once you have invested in program, you find that you quickly get information overload or maybe that the program doesn't really deliver on its claims.

So, what exactly should you look for when selecting a website marketing program and what things should you avoid?

A few of the things to watch out for are:

1. Unrealistic statements about how much money you can make earn. Many courses claim you can actually earn thousands of dollars with a few minutes work. That old adage saying if “something seems to good to be true, then it probably is”, definitely applies in this case. Whilst there can be the occasional product where you get lucky and possibly generate some dollars immediately, a lot of those systems will usually count on passing trends and are not sustainable in the long run.

2. Numerous upsells. There are thousands of marketing solutions out there that claim to be entire systems, however when you purchase them, you're offered “once in a life time offers” for some alternative solution. This is called an upsell and is a very common technique for a lot of the more ambitious marketers. You need to ask yourself, if the original product is so great, why do you require each one of these extra solutions?

3. Any support? The thing you don't want when you have paid your hard earned dollars is to be left in the lurch with no support. It doesn't matter how good a product is, you want to make certain it has some type of guarantee of support if you ever encounter any problems or have any kind of queries.

4. Good reputation. Generally a simple Google lookup can be extremely revealing in relation to whether the certain course and the person providing the program is actually trustworthy. However, as always 'Caveat Emptor' applies, so check a well known forum where you are able to trust the replies of the people posting there.

What points should you look out for?

1. A person that's been around for some time and has built up a great reputation.

2. Previous products? Normally, this is the best pointer as to just how much you can trust the person and/or system they're selling. If they have delivered a very good product in the past that clients ended up being really happy with, then there's a decent chance that their other products are going to be every bit as good.

So, when you are starting out and about to commit hard earned cash, use a mixture of due dilligence and evaluation.

That coupled with the help of a great mentor, will help make your online business a great success.

In terms of affiliate marketing, there are a number of strategies which a person could make money from. The truth is that there are literally 1000's of content and education courses available that will present you precisely what to do to achieve success.

Unfortunately most 'beginners' info overload from these packages and finally give up before they ever make a dime. Most of the time, the new affiliate marketer will blame the eBook or training course for lack of success and quickly moves on to other things.

What they fail to acknowledge is that it's often not the eBook that's the problem; it's the particular person studying it that decides the outcome.

The reality is that only a small share of affiliate marketers actually earn the large profits that everybody is dreaming of. Although affiliate internet marketing is not a tough activity, only a fraction of people really have what it takes to stay targeted and press on even when the sales aren't coming in.

If you want to achieve success, you must conquer the "self doubt" that's going to kick in as quickly as you commit some time to your new affiliate marketing venture...and don't see the results. You need to understand that this is natural and whereas others are giving up you should press on, build from your experiences, and proceed to teach yourself more tactics.

Think of affiliate marketing as pushing a snowball up and over a hill. At first, it may be difficult as a result of gravity (doubt) working in opposition to you. However after you make it over the hill, it will be difficult to stop the snowball in fact as it continues to roll on its own.

So you need to have an understaning that all the hard work is going to return no reward at first. But, as you continue to market your affiliate applications every day, fairly quickly your efforts will start paying off. As soon as you have found a subject that you think is a winner, it is time to discover your ebook. One way is to use 'PLR' (personal label rights) ebooks. These are ebooks that you would be able to buy the resell rights to. Take your time in choosing your guide; as a result of this is the most important part of the entire process.

Forums... You are there!
Articles... You are there!
Social networking... You are there!
Search Engines... You're there!

And on and on it goes!

In summary, if you are just getting started with affiliate marketing, make sure that you do your research. Find the precise training program and then stick with it. If you are one of those people that has already purchased a bunch of education programs, then maybe it is time to give them a go....a proper go I said!

The alternative is to waste more money on other coaching programs!

To your success!

Joe

A good number of sources of information you will find regarding internet marketing urge you to try various different models of promotion. Conventional ads, photo ads, pay-per-click advertising, search engine optimization, getting joint venture partners to sell your products and a mixture of additional notably fine recommendations for ways to get your product or service out in front of folks who would need or want it. So you are introduced to all these various strategies of marketing. It follows that countless folks believe that’s all the information they need, therefore they jump in with both feet, spend their funds on pay-per-click advertising or some other high-priced promotions. The logic is that the income made from this campaign will restore the resources depleted and even add to them for the next advertising campaign.

Sadly, it hardly ever works just this way. Very often a person will set these advertising techniques into effect all at once hoping for a big return, but instead very little happens and now there is not enough budget left to give it a go once more. Although there is nothing wrong with marketing campaigns that cost, like pay-per-click advertising, this kind of advertising isn’t best for every business, in spite of what the experts might state. Plus it is hardly effectual internet advertising to start out with pay-per-click spending.

Where the majority fall short is that they don’t carefully examine the response of each mode of advertising they have in place. Effective internet advertising isn’t completed just the once and forgotten, left to work behind the scenes to make titanic earnings. It is an embryonic process, one that takes regular fine-tuning and alteration to be really lucrative. And you really can begin this process devoid of spending very much capital, and occasionally without spending anything at all.

Plan for the lower expenditure forms of advertising at the outset. Article marketing, for instance, and filling a blog with new keyword optimized content to draw excellent search engine ranking is effective online marketing and a terrific beginning. Yes, you’ll want to optimize your web content, even if you have to compensate someone to accomplish it correctly.

But hold off on the expensive pay-per-click promotion until you establish which keywords and what articles and blog post are sending you the most users. Then spend your funds where your customers are, in essence, by beginning a pay-per-click campaign based on results you have heretofore seen with other techniques. Effectual internet advertising requires you to re-examine all of this often, for the reason that your preeminent keywords can vary maybe even from day to day. Identify a dependable website tracking software and use it often. This software will grow to be your best friend in your online marketing circle.

In summation, when you hear complaints from individuals who have tried their online business idea and failed, chances are they gave it lots of effort, but they truly weren’t practicing efficient online marketing. There is only one true secret to effective internet marketing: Reassess regularly and change methods whenever necessary.
