Hi virtual world!

This is my very first blog.

In equal measures I am excited and nervous!  Excited, because this is a great opportunity to make lots of cash. Nervous because I have so much to learn. What will be key therefore, is determined action coupled with Alex’s’ (plus team) great coaching. Well, what do you want to know? I am 41 (gulp), separated but in a brilliant relationship and have 3 fantastic children – all girls aged, between 5 – 11, who are my entire life!

My background is in finance. Banking for 11 years and asset finance for past 12 nearly (last 2.5 years self employed). I had a traditional, limited upbringing of studying hard, getting good grades, job with a good institution for life (plus pension). Very Rich Dad, Poor Dad! The problem with this is that there is no room for entrepreneurialism or role models for that matter. The result is being moulded in to a ‘boring’ reliable type and you do whatever you are asked to do. You keep your nose clean and do additional exams & a BA Hons before you rise the slippery pole to the board room. What an exciting life.....

It was at the Southampton Boat show one year that the realisation dawned on me. If I was going to own a Sunseeker 64 foot Manhattan boat, then I wasn’t going to achieve it through working for my employer. At £1.9m, it was naturally above most employed people’s budget. I was only fulfilling somebody else’s dream and not mine. That realisation made the gulf between employment and me grow every day.

So in 2007, I went alone! We had a great 6 months but the Home Loan crisis in America in November 2007 started to make things unpredictable. The flow of bad news funnelled through to the UK and subsequently in August 2008, the world stopped! Recession had arrived! Income levels just stopped overnight and brought the problems that go with that! I will never again have a credit card debt! Here’s the thing: I am so glad we had a recession. It allowed me to realise that working in finance is both boring and thankless. Service levels from finance companies were pretty s**t, and they didn’t care...at all! I also realised my passions were elsewhere in being entrepreneurial, and even if I had worked my guts out (which I always did), I would never make it ‘big’. I also leant much more about money, people, companies and I loved every minute with the kids, so naturally grew as a father.

So along came Brian Tracy. He introduced me to Gary Ryan Blair who set me off on ‘goal setting, commitment to excellence, Law of Attraction and to expect success’. Noting the compliments I had received on me being a Dad, it was easy for me therefore to write a book on how to raise children successfully, which I have literally just finished. Watch out therefore for my blog about this exciting subject. At that time, I met Alex through my accountant and the rest is history.

What do I want from my future? Well without doubt, I want to have a significant amount of passive income coming in on a monthly basis. The recession has taught me to respect money much more so am now trained to deal with it! The other thing is freedom. By setting goals and achieving them I can create greater freedom for me, my family and my relationships, thus leaving a great legacy for when I am gone.

To infinity and beyond!

It’s looking / sounding great,, and I will follow with interest, I hope our team also show you support, as they should.
I am very much in the same mind set as you, although the only thing I know well is IT, ok Music two but not as well as IT, I have big ideas, I want to become the largest IT Support Company in the UK, whilst remaining the most honest and upfront.

Dare I say this, but I have JUST been inspired by reading your blog, so Thanks.

Looks like you have found another niche. Always with your eyes open. Good luck, and as you know, I am a father of 4 too. Will be following your blog with interest.

By the way, I will pass it round people here in the UAE (Abu Dhabi) in a similar situation, if you would like me to.

Good luck, and keep being Joe Fizz.

    Cheers

Would love you to spread the word Ado. The book is ready for proof reading so will be finished completely by the weekend. I just then need to get it published……erm… well we’ll see!

    Hey Joe,

Good job gettin the blog up. I just got mine up too last night, and hopefully posting my first blog today. I’m brand new as well, a bit older then you (51 in March), and this is all scary and exciting to learn. I don’t even know what I’m doing, but I’ll just follow Alex step by step. If you’re in Vegas next week, I’ll see you there. If not, let me know if I can help in anyway. The thousand mile journey starts with the first step. Take care.

    Hi Joe,

Now I gotta say this blog looks a whole lot better already.

    Here’s something to inspire you…

… just 14 months ago my blog looked pretty much the same as yours. Go and take a look at it now. I had a similar Alexa Ranking to you too. Yours is currently 15,142,971. Mine is hovering around 50,000 (The LOWER the better BTW)

You have made a great start. Just keep adding to it chunk by chunk – just like I did (and still do).

    Hey Joe/Wayne ? !,

Just hopped over here from the MWA forum.

Your story is similar to mine, well I’m 41 too! Seriously though, your one ahead of me in that your generating a passive income already, but you are going to have a serious niche there for parenting Dad’s. I’m recently seperated, and boy is it tough knowing how to be a dad, whilst not being around.

Be good to catch up at some point, look foward to getting to know you and helping out how I can too!

    Cheers

    Sean

    Hey Sean!

Thanks for commenting on my blog. I hope so mate because its something I feel really passionate about. If I can make some money from it too, then that would be GREAT! Watch this space for some additional information regarding the book. I feel you are absolutely right about the niche. As a Dad, you were never given a manual to help you, or a guide on what to do after separation! Hopefully my book will help those who want to be the best parent they can.

Would love to stay in touch, we have a lot in common.

    Best regards,

    Joe

    Hi Joe

Welcome to the blog world, and the world of Alex Jeffreys. I believe you picked the right guy to follow.
I wish you every success possible, and hope the journey is rewarding, despite the setbacks that you will encounter. Just a few rocks in the road, now and then 🙂 And if I can ever be of help, please ask. I’m just a newbie like you, on the same road.

You can delete the first comment that was left by “Mr WordPress” as a marker, by the way.
