    Hi Joe,
    Thanks for this info…
I came via Matt’s site, where a friend via a friend sent me to check out something all together different than this!
    Talk about getting side swiped!
However, regarding failure to thrive in IM…

I saw a great explanation the other day re the part of the brain(subconscious) in entrepreneurs that protects them from “pain” of failures.

It(the S/C) allows you to check out interesting and thrilling new stuff, but to keep itself going on a painless and exciting journey, it sabotages any attempt at stopping with and trying to do one thing all the way through.
It figures that this new thing is not going to produce any reward that gives it (the subconscious)a grander feeling of euphoria than the hype of the thrill of the first few weeks of a Shiny New Object…and on it goes…sometimes for not just 5 years, as some have declared, but 15 years from others in other forums!

How to cure this phenomenon is to be aware of it and create very small successes in your IM life.
Like just aiming for one new sign up a week, create one new blog post a week, submit one new article a week or whatever.
Just make sure it’s something you can begin and finish in one sitting and really get high on the reward you give yourself.
Dance around, go buy yourself an ice cream, have a celebratory glass of bubbles, have a candle lit dinner with/for your mate…Anything that smacks of pure delight at your tiny success… as; here’s the clincher…

The Subconscious can’t tell the difference between a massive success or just a tiny one!

So, go fool that sucker into submission!
This, over a month or so will condition the brain(sub conscious) that these new things you try, will produce great feelings too and it will gradually stop sabotaging you and allow you to proceed and actually complete a task.

Apparently about 79% of IM’ers are affected by this syndrome.

Hope this helps someone, as it has sure helped me.
    Kindest,
    Poppie

Thanks for popping over…I hope the side swipe was worth it??

Great comment by the way…I hadn’t understood the subconscious bit…but now I know… small successes, here I come….

Keep in touch please? With a great comment like that, really adds value to the site!

    Best regards

Awesome post my friend. One of the things I did early on in my blogging career was to always made sure I had a post everyday. Taking massive action especially in the begining really does pay off. As the blogger has more posts under his/her belt they can from their gradually post blogs and feel out the good times to post, that caters to their readers. Excellent tips here my friend. Keep in touch.

    Hey Baker,

Thanks for popping by and for the comment!

You know, it so so true. If you take massive action, then the law of attraction can’t ignore it either. 🙂

    Will do Baker, you too!

    regards

    Good video – My views

1st reason – people get hit from all directions and try to multi task then never complete anything
2nd reason – poorly designed guides send people down too many rabbit holes
3rd reason – people get swallowed by information overload
4th reason – the skillsets needed aren’t there and people have a inability to build things incrementally as they don’t understand what they are trying to build.

There are many many more which I cant think of at the moment

Thanks for the feedback, it is really appreciated!

I agree with you Peter. Every avenue appears to be appealing… but all it does is lead you away from the fireside!

Thanks again for your kind words.

    Hey Wayne
Love the video mate. Great for SEO to. Really helps with the know like and trust stuff. I am going to get one up on my blog soon. I agree with your reasons why people fail. If you cant actually see and measure the progress towards your goal it is just to easy to give up when life gets a little bit challenging. I find a detailed bak plan helps then you can really see where you started, where your at and far youv’e progressed.

    Cheers
    Dave

    Hey Wayne,

I believe you to be right on when you say that most newbies fail to take the action required. It’s sad because experienced marketers know this to be a road block and those who work around it instead of turning around will endure to reap rewards for their creativity.

    Well done,
    Mike
